DESCRIPTION
The Level
A chemical warfare agent protective system was specifically designed
under a Government contract for use in WMD, Domestic Preparedness, and
CBRN environments. The system provides protection against chemical and
biological warfare agents, as well as industrial chemicals. The Level
A suit is constructed of DuPont's Tychem® LV (low visibility)
fabric, which is a multi-layer composite chemical barrier laminated
to a strong non-woven substrate. The suit features a vapor-tight zipper
with double splash flaps and an expanded 3-layer visor that gives a
greater field of vision. The suit also has attached 24 mil neoprene/butyl
outer gloves with Silver Shield®/4H®
inner gloves.
Compliant with the Overall Ensemble Inward Leakage (SF6
test) protocol in NFPA 1994
Yielded a high overall protection factor when evaluated with the
U.S. Army man-in-simulant test (MIST)
Tychem®
LV material provides over 12 hours of protection against the chemical
warfare agents GA, GB, GD, HD, L, and VX
Tychem® LV material is protective
against the 21 ASTM F 1001 chemicals plus over 200 additional chemicals
